CJ’S GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE

A Thanksgiving tradition!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 – cup chopped onion.
  • 2 – tablespoons butter.
  • 2 – tablespoons all-purpose flour.
  • 1 – cup milk.
  • 1 – can Cream of Mushroom Soup.
  • 1 – cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese.
  • 1/2 – cup sour cream.
  • 1 – tablespoon white sugar.
  • 1/2 – teaspoon sea salt.
  • 1- pound grozen cut green beans, thawed & drained.
  • 2 – cups french fried onions.

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place green beans in a glass casserole serving dish.
  • Spoon out the mushroom soup and thoroughly, evenly coat the green beans.
  • Saute chopped onion with butter in a large frying pan over medium heat until translucent.
  • Add flour and stir to coat flour.
  • Gradually add milk and bring to boil.
  • Add cheese, sour cream, sugar and sea salt.
  • Cook till thickened and cheese is melted and thorougly mixed together.
  • Pour mixture over green beans.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
